Marbella, May 27, 2026. Grupo Alfil (Alfil Patrimonial SOCIMI) has announced the launch of its new call for applications for the Francisco Gómez Reyes Scholarships, an initiative designed to support university students and outstanding athletes. Through this program, the Marbella-based company reaffirms its commitment to the education and training of future leaders in academia and sports.
This grant program provides for the awarding of 30 scholarships—25 based on academic merit and 5 based on athletic achievements—to help offset the cost of housing in Málaga for students registered as residents of Marbella. The grants, of up to 1,800 euros, are applied as a discount on the accommodation fee at the Alfil University Residence, located on the Teatinos university campus. Additionally, all students registered as residents of Marbella will be eligible for a 5% discount on the various student accommodations managed by the Marbella-based company in Málaga.
The scholarships are part of the Corporate Social Responsibility program and carry on the legacy of Don Francisco Gómez Reyes, founder of Grupo Alfil, who throughout his professional career demonstrated a clear commitment to helping the city’s students pursue their academic aspirations. “Throughout his personal and professional life, Don Francisco always made it a priority to help those in need, especially those who strive hard. From this culture rooted in discipline and high standards comes our goal of rewarding students for their academic achievements,” explains Francisco Gómez Palma, the current President and CEO of Grupo Alfil.
Since its launch fourteen years ago, the Francisco Gómez Reyes Scholarship Program and the discount scheme for Marbella residents have benefited more than 700 students, with an estimated investment of over one million euros.
Through this program, Grupo Alfil reaffirms its social commitment to education and the training of future leaders in various fields. “We firmlybelieve in young talent and its ability to shape the future. These scholarships are an investment in that potential,” says Gómez.
